When I woke up, the dance was still there

Rumor has it the shortest tale in the world is by Monterroso and it goes like this:

When he awoke, the dinosaur was still there.

When I discovered The Art of Dancing (apologies for the lack of reference, I don’t even recall where I saw the site for the first time), I had one of those “duh!” moments. And that’s when you know something’s good, isn’t it? When it seems it had always been there, when it fits in so nicely that it stands out.

Basically, The Art of Dancing are two dudes (I think the word is appropriate) that just dance. And I mean, they just play a song and go totally nuts and shake it like there is no tomorrow. They are not the best dancers in the world technically, but what they might miss on technique, they make up for in enthusiasm and sheer fabulous foolishness.

The idea is so plain, it’s just mind blowing: one video, one song, one location, one day. And a lot of moves. It’s magic when innovation just happened to be there all along, and it just needed two hipsters (and by the way, I love hipsters even if the hip thing is to hate them) to frame it correctly for their own times.

So, when I woke up the other day, The Art of Dancing was still there. And that made sense. And it made me feel joy. Kudos, dudes.
