friends
Lulilins (my sister, the only photographer that makes me look decent. She happens to have a fantastic tumblr site, but don’t tell her, she’s proud enough of it).
On Africa (that’s Mr. M., my fiancé -oh, yes!-, a proper, geeky, africanist and political scientist. He’s really handsome, too. I could tell you a lot more but he’s a proper politics pro (PPP) and I shall not disturb his public-ish image).
Pink Elephant (not an actual elephant, but rather Josué, my preferred design partner. All I can say is, he’s GOOD. As in, really, really good. And he’s obsessed with superadobe buildings. I’m pretty confident he’s gonna be responsible for a few contributions that will make our world better. And that’s something I cannot say about everyone).
Quiero Salvar el Mundo Haciendo Marketing (this people welcomed me into their home -their office is a house, a blue house, and it does feel homely- and ever since they’ve proved to me over and over again that there are genuinelly kind people out there and that you can do business and be responsible and amazing about it).
Destination Economy (this is Edu. You should know him. He is fabulous. And one of my very BFF. He is into architecture, and museums, and branding, and urban planning, and queer theory…! He even learnt Esperanto, at some point. Seriously, awesome guy -he once gave a lecture on haunted museums-).
Post M (let me introduce you to Nerina. Nerina is beyond fantastic. She is the kind of woman we all want to be: creative, intelligent, sensitive and sensible. And speaks like milllions of languages properly. She makes me jealous, in a nice, friendly way).
Cuentos por cigarrillos (Inés is a published author and a friend from my MA. She’s got a couple of brilliant tattoos -that I know of-; a brilliant MA thesis -on posctards from colonial Africa-; and a new brilliant business. She’ll write a new tale for you if you buy her cigarrettes, or food, or whatever. Brilliant, i told you).
Les Ulldes (my mum is an enamelist, my sister is a photographer, and I’m a designer. Together we make this rather cute jewelery. We’re on etsy, too!)
Lecturas (this is a really good magazine on art, culture… and design. I know that because I write on design here. It is bi-monthly and bi-great, so you should check it out).
La Pandemonio (you have not heard about us yet, but you will. A bunch of the people above and me -and people who do not own websites, too- have started the most amazing poster-zine ever. It’s true. Bear with us!)
Proyecto Fetén (Once upon a time, there was a collective of cultural creatives that wanted to do something in Madrid. They couldn’t affor a space of their own, so they decided to meet monthly to share ideas and inspiration -they called that La Hora feTÉn- and also maybe write up a manifesto and do some accions all over the city).
Teresa Ulldemolins (this is my mother. As I’ve told you before, she’s an enamelist, and one of the very few left in the world. Actually, she specializes in miniature enamel and that’s RARE. Also, she happens to be very, very talented at what she does. So, if you ever need one, you know who to call).
La calavera de Yorick (say hi to Héctor. Héctor is the kind of person that would have been a library in another life. Not a librarian -a bit too dull for him-, but a library. And one with a vast theatre section, at that.I also have the feeling that héctor has seen many lives. He has this old-fashioned way of talking, sometimes. In a good way. And he is damn good at telling stories).
Bailando hasta el apagón (Isa is, or rather, is going to be, my youngest sister-in-law. And, unlike her two siblings, Isa has somehow managed to grow up in a civilized and sensitive manner -don’t get me wrong, I adore the other two and I’m actually marrying one of them. Let’s just say that even as rough diamonds, she’s got this glow-. She’s cultivated and intelligent, but also emotionally capable. Well done, my dear).
I do have more friends, but they don’t all have websites you might be interested in…
